Bill Noble Park Wins Outstanding Outdoor Pickleball

City of Gardendale Celebrates Prestigious Gold Award for Excellence

(Gardendale, Ala.) Dec. 27, 2023– Bill Noble Park in Gardendale, Alabama, has been awarded

the first place, gold award for Outstanding Outdoor Pickleball Facility of the Year by The

American Sports Builders Association (ASBA). This prestigious award is presented each year to

facilities built by ASBA members that best exemplify construction excellence.

Winners of awards were announced at the Association’s 2023 Technical Meeting, presented

from December 1-4 in Houston, Texas. Projects are scored individually based on considerations

such as layout and design, site work, drainage, base construction, surface, amenities,

innovation, and overall impression. Winning entries are those whose cumulative scores met or

exceeded the standard.

“We are proud of the work done by all members of ASBA, but this year’s award-winning

projects showcase true excellence,” said David Clapp, CTCB, chairman of the Association. “They

are not only designed and constructed to exacting standards, as well as being aesthetically

beautiful, but they provide an excellent playing experience for the athletes who use them and

the spectators who come to watch them.”

The park officially opened to the public on March 11, 2023. General Manager, Jesse Newsom

expressed his pride in the park’s recognition, saying, “I couldn’t be prouder of how our new

facility is being honored in our first year of being open. We are not only striving for excellence

for our community but being recognized on a national level is incredibly impactful for our

team.”

The City of Gardendale park is managed by Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) and it offers a

variety of outdoor pickleball courts and softball/baseball fields, as well as an indoor event

center, and a variety of other amenities. The park is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable

experience for all players, from beginners to experienced athletes.

The park also offers a variety of programs and events, such as tournaments, clinics, seasonal

holiday events and leagues. The park is open to the public and is a great place for families and

friends to come together and enjoy the thrill of sports.
